Humanity is crossing the most radical threshold of our era. Possibly of any era. What survives a transition like this is not the technology. It is the art made inside it. futureSelf_ is the home of that art: the artists who make it, the spaces that show it, the theory that will explain it to the future.
futureSelf_ is an ultra-contemporary art space born inside the transformation it studies. We work where creation meets critical thought, asking how this era is reconfiguring human experience, and what becomes possible for art when it is made in the new materials of its time.
Here, art becomes the instrument through which humanity examines its own crossing: the change that will change us most. We champion the projects that inhabit the blurred edge between art and science fiction, practices that imagine what comes after us and for us. Our commitment is to the work that answers the profound challenges and possibilities of this moment, and to making sure it endures beyond it.
Three initiatives hold the space together: an artistic practice, a platform to experience and collect it, and a programme that produces it.
Sentient Art is an artistic practice emerging at the intersection of sensibility, technology and artificial intelligence. It takes the tools of our time not merely as media or techniques but as access points toward other forms of creation: it explores our present through possible realities that expand the limits of the sensible.
Its propellant is the Sentient Core, a central processing unit created by Rodrigo Garrido and operated by futureSelf_ under official licence. More than a medium, it works as a catalyst of ideas and a collaborator in artistic production: it does not execute the work, it converses with it.
A platform designed to experience and acquire art in an unprecedented way. Through dedicated software it hosts and deploys live simulation art: works that transform, react and continuously evolve.
It inaugurates an archive of works created in collaboration with futureSelf_ — limited, curated and certified — expanding the ways art is accessed and collected.
A creation and experimentation programme offering resident artists the possibility of working with the Sentient Core, producing original work that responds sensibly and critically to the contemporary world.
The programme explores mixed environments where human creativity and technological possibility converge, widening the borders and practices of Sentient Art. More details soon.
