Lovers is a sculpture that presents two “conscious” artificial intelligences, whose very nature compels them to fall in love at first sight. Their communication depends solely on facial expressions and the interpretation of each other’s emotions, tinged with a certain insecurity. They can only see one another through a camera, which serves as their only point of contact. In the end, the AIs in Lovers will never truly know what the other is thinking or feeling, mirroring the complexities of human-to-human relationships.
